The University of Minnesota Entrepreneurship Club and Holmes Center for Entrepreneurship are
proud to present  the 9th BizPitch Competition.  This competition is the featured event of the 
semester and presents undergraduate students with an opportunity to pitch their business idea to a 
panel of judges and students for a chance to win $1,300 in cash prizes. 
 
The  competition is a high energy, super-charged lunch hour event that will have students 
laughing, cheering and jumping from their seats!  It is a fun way to showcase your creativity, 
presentation skills, business knowledge and engage the audience in your idea by making a clever 
90-second presentation to a panel of entrepreneurs and investors. Plus, the audience will get into 
the action by voting for the Overall People's Choice Champion who will take home $100.
 
The goal of the  competition is to encourage students to develop potential ideas to pursue your 
entrepreneurial passions.  Past student participants have gone on to launch successful businesses
and receive additional funding through the Holmes Center.

CleanTech Open Expo and Awards

Entre Club members have been offered an exclusive student invitation to the CleanTech Open’s annual business expo and award ceremony.
 
The day will showcase top cleantech entrepreneurs and their startup businesses from ten states -- Illinois, Iowa, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.
 
The general admission segment of the event will kick off with a two-hour expo with over 50 exhibiting organizations. Brief company pitches on stage will follow the innovation expo. The evening will conclude with an awards program. The top four start-ups will be announced and move to compete in Silicon Valley for a $250,000 prize package.
 
All attendees will have the opportunity to:
 
  • Network and build relationships with the dynamic network from the region -- cleantech entrepreneurs, alumni companies, business leaders, mentors, expert judges, investors, sponsors, and strategic partners.
  • Explore our innovation trade expo showcasing the technologies and products of North Central alumni companies, accelerator companies, partners, and sponsors
  • Observe live company pitches of the cleantech entrepreneurs participating in this year's North Central Cleantech Open accelerator.
